With Adama Traore having the season of his life, he seems to be getting linked away from the club on a weekly basis.
The former Barcelona player seems to be attracting the interest of some of Spain’s biggest clubs, and in response to that, Wolves now have been linked to a potential replacement.
According to the Daily Mail, Allan Saint-Maximin – a player Newcastle fans have thoroughly enjoyed watching this season – is said to be a potential target for Nuno Espirito Santo, and is allegedly an identified replacement if Traore was to leave the club in the summer.
While they are slightly different players on the ball – Saint-Maximin is slightly less powerful but perhaps more skilful – they still both churn out incredible numbers for dribbling at their opposition, which might explain the strong link.
Would Allan Saint-Maximin be a good signing?
Yes
No
In fact, in the Premier League, only Wilfried Zaha (4.7) stands in between Allan Saint-Maximin (4.6) and Adama Traore for the most dribbles per game, with the Spaniard having the most with 5.2, per WhoScored.
When asked by supporters whether or not they would like to see the Frenchman through the door at Molineux, they seemed pretty positive about it – just not at the expense of Adama Traore.
Here are some of their replies below…
Nobody can really replace adama though

I’d take him. But I’d rather us kept adama

100m for traore, and 30m for him, 70m profit for having a player with same abilities and nurturing potential. I’d prefer em both tho… Imagine the defences trying to cope

I could live with that. Great player and make a mint of profit in return

Irreplaceable, even though this is not going to happen. Adama is one of a kind in football.

I’d have them both

While Saint-Maximin is showing plenty of sign of promise at this stage, he still doesn’t have a goal or assists return that will really excite the fanbase, with just a goal and assist coming from 16 games this season in the league.
However, fans will be reminded of Traore, who also struggled for goals and assists before this campaign, who has been able to grab four goals and seven assists with just a season and a half with Nuno.
Keeping our squad together has to be the priority. Think positively that Adama still hasn’t achieved his potential. If we become known for selling players at a profit, just think about the consequences of losing Boly, Neves, Jota and Jimenez.
