Sky Sports News may have just reported that Wolves have indeed upped our offer for Stephen Hunt to £5million.

Vital Wolves reported the offer earlier this morning and Sky Sports News have now just confirmed it.

McCarthy is desperate to link up Hunt with Ireland team mate Kevin Doyle, but Hull do not exactly look like a team ready to sell their star man.

“Hunt showed me that he wanted to be a Hull City player and I think he showed that to the fans as well.’ Hull manager Phil Brown told the Birmingham Mail after the game on Saturday.

He added: “The chairman has just had a word with me and I am very confident Stephen Hunt will still be a Hull player. The chairman is working very hard to sort out the finances.

“If I sold Hunt these fans would go crazy.”
