On Monday afternoon, I stumbled across a strange report claiming that Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Romain Saiss was now on the verge of leaving the club for Turkish side Besiktas.
The claim seemed to originate from Beyaz TV as carried by Sporx but they were confidently claiming that a deal for the 29-year-old had now been agreed between both clubs, and seemingly all that required finalising was personal terms.
This deal, if the report is true, may well go through late Monday evening but my eyes will be the game so this is in timer.
The 29-year-old Moroccan joined us from Angers back in August 2016, and he’s made exactly 100 appearances for the club as we took Championship promotion and entered back into the Premier League, but he has found top flight minutes hard to come by.
He is a valuable squad member, if not a regular starter though, so the news of a potential sale being agreed definitely surprised a fair few fans.
Surely now's not a good time to be getting rid of players

How can you not rate him? Does his job very well as a defensive midfielder and also is cover at centre half, he's a really good squad player to have

That would be a big mistake, he’s not going to be a 1st team regular again but he’s an excellent squad player.

Wow that was unexpected

Huge mistake. Good player. And we don’t have enough players what so ever as it is. Poor transfer window

With most Turkish based speculation being as reliable as The Sun and the Daily Mail – well, I know the European window is open, but a sale at this stage just seems bizarre.
