With Stefan Maierhofer out following a hernia operation, Sam Vokes looks set to have a chance at the Premier League.
The Wales International wanted to stay at Molineux following his loan spell with Leeds United and with injuries to both Stefan Maierhofer and Andy Keogh, he now looks likely to feature.
We reported yesterday that the Hoff had already had an operation on his hernia, however unsurprisingly as we had used the google translate tool to read a comment on his official site, this wasn’t actually the case according to McCarthy.
“Stefan hasn`t had a hernia operation yet, but he`s having one this week. He`s been struggling with the hernia for some time, so he needs to get it sorted out, then he can come back when he`s fully fit.” McCarthy told the Express & Star.
Speaking about Sam Vokes who recently returned from a loan spell at Leeds, McCarthy added: “There`s no chance of him going back out on loan at the minute, because I`ve got Stefan Maierhofer needing a hernia operation and Andy Keogh out for weeks.’
Vokes has also recently been linked in a swap deal for Leeds United’s Beckford, something dazza71 from Vital Leeds United wouldn’t want to happen: ‘I honestly cannot see it happening, although I liked Vokes during his spell at Leeds, 1 goal in 8 games just isn’t the replacement Leeds will be looking for, for a player who has hit 20 goals already this season.’
Vital Wolves Comment: This appears to be the chance Sam Vokes has wanted to impress in the Premier League this season.
Lets hope he takes his chance.
