Glenn Hoddle steps up his search for a Striker today after hinting that whilst he has an interest in Izale Mcleod, he is also chasing down the services of a more proven goalscorer.
‘Izale is 20 and we need someone who can make a difference now.’ he said yesterday
Extending Tom Hudlestones stay at the club is high on his agenda as well. Huddlestone, whose loan to Wolves has now expired has impressed so far, and Hoddle is keen to retain England Under 21 player.
‘We are going to talk to Spurs and hope they will let him stay. They might do that with a 24 hour recall in case they get injuries.’
There have also been reports linking Wolves with Welsh international David Vaughan. The 22 year old Crewe midfielder has recently broken into John Toshack’s Wales side, but Hoddle will have to battle for his signature with Mark Hughes who is also understood to be keen to aquire his services.
