Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle is pleased with the results of todays first day back for pre season training.

Talking to the clubs official site he said :

‘It looks as thought they’ve all done their work over the summer and they all look pretty fit,’

‘Today they’ve had their weight and fitness checks and, obviously, players like Clydey have been checked over in relation to old injuries.

‘There’s been plenty going on but the main things is that we’ve completed a good session.’

Today represents the thin end of the conditioning wedge as Hoddle looks to prime the squad ready for action on day one of The Championship season.

But with the likes of Matt Murray Seyi Olofinjana and Mark Clyde still on the way back from long term injuries, no one is going be pushed too hard just yet

‘You always ease them back in during the first couple of days and don’t do too much too soon.’ he said, adding

‘We’ll do a lot of core stability work and stretching this week because one of the things that you don’t want to see is someone picking up a silly injury early doors.’

‘Kunle (Fitness Coach) is putting them through their paces this week as we prepare to head off to Spain for the training camp, next week.’

Fitness and maintaining it could be key to this years campaign having a satisfactory conclusion.

With no 36 man squad in place every player will be needed for as many games as their bodies can take, and hopefully the next few weeks will lay the foundations for that.
