Mick McCarthy’s not doing thing by halves.

If the reported cash plus Elliott bid for Kyle Lafferty is to believed McCarthy looks set to break the £2m barrier for the first time as discussed here last week.

there was a time when that kind of money could get you a lot of player, but those days are long gone.

With sums of £4m for Lafferty, and £3m for Sam Vokes being bandied about, it’s just as well that McCarthy now has the backing of a liquid Chairman.

He’s going to need Steve Morgan’s financial clout, and more than a little Irish charm if he is going to get anywhere near any of this summer’s targets.

QPR look to be the close season big guns in the Championship.

Financially strong again, the south London club have the added attraction of a glamorous location to draw in any potential new signings.

Kings Road or Copthorne Road. A tough call for any footballer I’m sure.

Somethings money can’t buy though. Like the feeling of unity within McCarthy’s young squad which could go a long way to tipping things in Wolves favour when it comes to battling it out for signatures with their rivals.
