As you would expect Karl Henry has hit back at Joey Barton for the comments he made over the weekend.
If you haven’t previously heard or read his comments, then I would recommend reading our previous article on Vital Wolves.
While it would have probably been best to let it be water off a ducks back, obviously the media are keen to get a reaction from Henry after being accused of deliberately “trying to hurt people” and being branded a “Sunday League player”.
While Henry didn’t discuss the comments directly, he did reveal the extent of Barton’s winding-up of players during the game.
“Joey Barton was telling everyone on the pitch he is on £80,000 a week.’ Henry told the Express & Star.
He added: “That is him. I think he riles a few people when he says those things and tells everybody how great he is. It is just embarrassing really. If that is what he wants to do, he can carry on.
“But that is why a lot of people dislike him as a person and maybe have a problem with him.
Vital Wolves Comment: Everyone knows that Barton is a wind-up merchant, so Henry’s comments will not come as a big surprise to many, in fact many people will wonder why it seemed to have such an affect us!
I’m sure far worse used to be said on the pitch years back and everyone would still shake hands at the end of the game and have a beer afterwards.
