Karl Henry could return against Wigan on Boxing Day according to Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.

The skipper tore medial ligaments against Blackpool on November 20th and wasn’t expected to return until well into 2011.

But a speedy recovery has put him in contention for a quick return.

‘Karl’s going to be fit quicker than any of us originally thought, but he has no chance of being fit for this weekend,’ McCarthy said in the Express & Star.

He added: ‘As to whether he’ll be ready for Boxing Day, I don’t know yet. I’m not ruling him out.’
