Werder Bremen Managing Director Frank Baumann has confirmed that his Bundesliga side are in talks to sell rumoured Wolverhampton Wanderers target Milot Rashica.

Reports by Spiegel have speculated that Wolves will look to rival Borussia Dortmund and a host of Premier League sides with a move for the 24-year-old in the upcoming transfer market, after Rashica shone with eight goals and seven assists whilst Bremen strived for Bundesliga survival.

While Bremen have retained their top-flight status after beating Heidenheim in the relegation Play-Off on away goals, Baumann continues to expect Rashica will leave in the summer having issued a firm statement on the forward’s future.

“There is movement and talks with a club, but he is also on the cards with other clubs,” Baumann confirmed to Kicker [July 10, 13:58]. “We have to assume that he won’t play with us next season.”

Kicker add that Champions League Quarter Finalists RB Leipzig are also now courting Rashica’s services, though are reluctant to match the Kosovo international’s €35million (£31.3m) release clause.

Werder are not in a position where they must sell below the fee stipulated in Rashica’s contract, however, with Baumann adding: “We don’t have to sell him under value.”

Baumann will have plenty of evidence to point potential suitors to if they look for a cut-price transfer, as no player scored more goals for Werder Bremen across all competitions than Rashica during the 2019/20 campaign, with the 27-cap ace netting 11 times and assisting a further eight goals – also a team-high.

Rashica further ranked joint-15th overall in the Bundesliga for successful dribbles with 55, per Sofa Score the same as Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry and two fewer than Kai Havertz, who Bayer Leverkusen reportedly value at €100m (£89.4m) amid interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
