‘Hardly put a foot wrong’, ‘Disappointed’ – Many Wolves fans react to latest rumour

As the transfer market nears its conclusion, Ryan Bennett has been linked away from the club – and fans aren’t particularly happy about it.

According to the Press Association news agency, the centre-back is wanted by a number of clubs from the Premier League, Championship and even the SPL before tomorrow’s deadline.

With the 29-year-old struggling to get first-team football this campaign, other clubs have clearly seen him as a possible target for the next half of the season.

Can we afford to see Bennett leave?

Definitely not, even with another CB

He's not good enough, even if we get a CB

Despite picking up 34 Premier League appearances last season, this year he just hasn’t had the regular backing of Nuno Espirito Santo, even with a serious injury to Willy Boly. In fact, the Portuguese coach has opted to play two centre midfielders in Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss instead of the defender, so he may well feel like his days at Molineux are now numbered.

With Wolves reporter Tim Spiers discussing the interest on his Twitter feed, plenty of fans replied supporting Bennett, suggesting that they would be sad to see him go.

Here are some of the responses below…

So far this season, the defender has played in 11 Premier League games but has missed out on the last two matchday squads.

It now seems as if he could be behind youngster Max Kilman in the pecking order, too, with the defender being placed on the bench for these games while Bennett had to sit out.

It seems that even if Nuno doesn’t have him in his plans, the fans do – and they would at least want him replaced before he departs.
