Adam Hammill has been arrested while on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers with Huddersfield Town.

The 24-year-old who was farmed out on loan by Wolves boss Ståle Solbakken in August, was arrested by police on Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a female paramedic in Liverpool city centre.

The paramedic had been called out to an emergency outside Revolution Bar when she was assaulted.

‘We understand that the man has been released on police bail and we will do all we can to support their enquiry.’ Dave Kitchin, from the North West Ambulance Service told the press.

He added: ‘Despite my many years working for the ambulance service, I still find it difficult to comprehend why an individual would set out to injure someone who is there to help and treat them.’

Huddersfield Town, who informed Wolves of the incident said: ‘We have been made aware of an incident which has taken place in Merseyside involving Adam Hammill.

‘The matter is being investigated by the police, therefore it would be inappropriate to comment at this stage.’

Hammill was released on police bail after 15 hours of questioning and if charged and convicted he could face up to six months in prison.
