The transfer window has closed and all of our business is concluded.

Most of the teams around us have spent money, especially West Ham who have bought in a significant amount of players as have Birmingham and I suppose have now thrown down the gauntlet so to speak to the other teams around or ‘hovering’ around the bottom of the table.

News of Andy Carroll on his way to Liverpool is I think, of far more interest to us ‘transfer starved Wolves fans’, the amounts of money involved are truly staggering but it just might cost Newcastle their premiership status by the end of May.

Andy Carroll has been hugely involved with scoring goals to give Newcastle a great first half to the season and I think they will struggle without a replacement.

So without exactly ‘breaking the bank’ so to speak Wolves may just see a light at the end of the tunnel, after the next two weeks we embark on a fairly good run in to the end of the season and I firmly believe that our chances have improved dramatically without us kicking a ball in anger!

We have not bought many in, but we have not lost any players either, this so called window could have a huge effect by the end of the season, not by what we have done but by what other clubs have done on this eventful record breaking transfer day!

In what looks to be a calculating gamble by all clubs? Do you fill the glass so to speak and hope for a quick turnaround in fortunes or do you stick with a half empty one and stick with what you’ve got and hope for an improvement in the second half of the season?

I hope for the latter of these two options and that we can do enough to remain in the top flight for another season.
