Late yesterday evening Olympiacos confirmed the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Roderick Miranda on a deal that will keep him at the club for the entire 2018/19 campaign.

Wolves fans already knew that the 27-year-old had been given permission to leave our training camp with the club expressing interest in him and despite arriving under Nuno Espirito Santo last summer, he did only make 19 appearances in our shirt – 18 of those being starts.

It’s a good opportunity for him to get more regular game time after he slipped down the pecking order and you have to imagine we’ve let him out for a reason as it’s the way the club now works in terms of clear forward planning when it comes to the playing staff.

Wolves confirmed the move themselves officially later on in the night but the statement released doesn’t shed any additional light on whether this is a loan to buy arrangement or whether, or not, we have a break clause in January – I’d imagine given his lack of game time towards the end of the year this move is with an eye to a permanent deal though as it would just tend to make more sense really.

Fans were more than willing to say a partial goodbye with respect if this is the last time we see him.
