It’s been a big season so far this season for highly rated Wolverhampton Wanderers star Bakary Sako.
Since the club suffered it’s second relegation inside a year, slipping from the Premier League to the Championship and into League One, things have changed around Molinuex.
The target isn’t just returning to the Premier League, it’s rebuilding the whole club to enable it to start again, fight for a place in the Championship and then look to the future.
For players such as Sako, that vision is understandably frustrating, it’s not what he signed up for, he joined the club with visions of playing Premier League football in the not so distant future.
When he’s linked with a variety of moves away, its understandable that he’d get his head turned.
The most notable and recent transfer link was to Nottingham Forest.
During negotiations, Sako didn’t play, prompting strike rumours which were eventually put down to a stress related illness.
Since that time he’s returned to the field, but with only one goal since October (he scored 5 in the opening 9 games of the season), some have labelled him as off form.
“If we keep getting him shooting opportunities goals will come – there`s no doubt about that, But his commitment to the team and overall workrate and chasing back have been first-class this season.’ Wolves gaffer Kenny Jackett told the Shropshire Star.
He continued: “He`s a big player for us and both the players and supporters rate him very highly.”
I don`t think he`s slipped in his performances.
“His team ethic has been excellent in a good start to the season.”
