The goals will come for Kevin Doyle according to Wolves boss Dean Saunders.
The 29-year-old Republic Of Ireland internationals has seen his goals dry up.
Following his £6,500,000 move from Reading to Molinuex in 2009, Doyle hit a somewhat disappointing nine goals that season. The following year he hit eight, although three were in Cup competitions leaving him with just five Premier League goals.
Last season that slumped even further to just four Premier League goals.
So far this season he has scored five goals in the Championship, bringing his total amount of goals scored in Wolves colours in the league to 23 in three-and-a-half years.
Not the return that Moxey and Morgan would have been hoping for when they dusted off the chequebook and broke the clubs transfer record.
But new gaffer Dean Saunders believes he can get more goals out of Doyle and it’s just a matter of time.
“If he keeps working hard and making the runs that get you goals, it will happen, He has to keep running into the centre of the goal, running to the near post – or making two runs sometimes if he doesn`t connect to the first one – and be alive to everything that comes into the box.’ Saunders told Wolves Official Website.
He continued: “If he keeps doing that, he`ll bang a couple in all of a sudden.
“And if he can combine that with his workrate and his effort, he`s a good player.
“I`ll take it personally if he does all that and he`s still not scoring.
“He just needs a bit of confidence.
