Wolverhampton Wanderers have certainly made a splash on the Premier League since our Championship title-winning promotion last season and if some eyes weren’t looking at us, more are taking us seriously following the draw with Manchester United at the weekend.
With six top-flight games played so far in the season of 2018/19, it’s incredibly early in the year to be making predictions and there’s more than enough games left for things to go incredibly wrong, but that shouldn’t get in the way of hope and optimism given what we’ve seen so far.
A respectable tenth place is where we find ourselves in the table with a return of nine points and we’ve only suffered one defeat. Two of those points, of course, have come from the big Manchester boys now and that bodes well, especially as we are still adjusting to the Premier League and players should only get better.
The performances of both Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho certainly came to the fore at Old Trafford, so I think the title is a valid question.

I’m not looking at this through Wolves tinted spectacles, but on current form I think you’d struggle to find many better pairings. Individual midfielders yes as Moutinho is still adapting and Neves hasn’t hit the heights of last season, yet.
The sides that jump out like Liverpool, Manchester City et al don’t really have a midfield pairing so it’s difficult to compare on that score, and of those that do the likes of Arsenal, not for me. They may have games where they are more influential so to speak, but they don’t have the consistency.
