Rarely do the Daily Mirror and the Sun agree on anything. Diametrially opposed in philosophy, the two papers are frequently found at loggerheads with each other, even once, famously, over a donkey. So it comes as a bit of a surprise to find them agreeing on anything, let alone Izale Mcleod’s arrival at Wolves for £1.4million.

At yesterdays press confernce Glenn when pressed for an answer on the Mcleod situation Hoddle saidthat in his mind, he had

Not according to the lads at Tabloid Towers. They dont call January Silly Season for nothing. Agents spreading rumours to enhance their clients prospects of a big money move. Writers placing stories based on whispers based on too many liquid lunches, it never changes. We’ve yet to get anywhere near its peak though. Not until Robbie Keane has been linked with a return to his former club can you say that.
