Tomasz Frankowski has spoken to The Birmingham Post to put the record straight regarding his form in front of goal since his transfer from Spanish side Elche.

Critics have been quick to point to the fact that he has yet to find the net in 9 appearances, but as he points out, numbers don’t always give the full picture

‘It is all very well looking at statistics but of my nine appearances some have been for no more than a few minutes,’ he said.

‘I felt I played well against Cardiff which is maybe why the manager did not take me off.’

As with any overseas transfer, Tomasz has had to acclimatise to a new club, a new culture, and a change in weather, but now feels that having done that, Wolves fans can look forward to seeing him at his best.

‘The move to Wolves happened at lightning speed,’ he recalled.

‘Because I had been injured I knew I would have to wait for my freshness to come back and Saturday’s game was the first I have played when I felt really satisfied at the end.

‘I feel I have now got the wind in my sails.

‘Before I was having to cope with tired legs, a new climate, different training and a different style of football and all of this takes time.

‘It came as a little bit of a shock that I struggled to get going at Wolves. Now I think I am over that.’

And The Madjeski Stadium would be the ideal place to prove it.
