With Wolverhampton Wanderers booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals following victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate last Sunday, a test against Manchester United now awaits in the next round of the competition.
The narrow 1-0 victory was enough to see us through and although there were some choppy moments in the game, plenty were content with the performances on show from head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s selection and one man who certainly stood out for fans on social media was Joao Moutinho given the effort he put in bossing the midfield.
With his experience and professionalism helping us to see the tough encounter out, the Portuguese was a hot topic of debate on Twitter following the game and simply put, our season keeps on getting better.

32 years old and has the engine of a 22 year old. He is incredible. A Rolls Royce of a footballer amongst Ferraris. If I had ovaries I would volunteer to incubate a Joao Moutinho Jr.

And Joao Moutinho, I’m running out of superlatives to describe that man. A true Rolls Royce of a player #WWFC

João Moutinho put in another terrific shift today. Exceptional. We all know how good he is technically and with leading his team in possession and on attacking moves, but he performed his defensive duties today brilliantly for Wolves. All-round, the complete central midfielder.

Tell you what. You need to dig out results sometimes and when you have a maestro in the middle like @JoaoMoutinho running himself into the ground and creating magic like he does. Still can't believe we have someone like him in our squad #wwfc

Moutinho should certainly take the praise as during our more wobbly period he received a fair bit of criticism as the whole team dipped in form, but few should doubt his importance to us, and at such a snip of a fee.
