Once again, Tomasz Frankowski came within a whisker of opening his Wanderers account this weekend and once again, left the field still goalless.

But manager Glenn Hoddle still has faith the Polish hitman will come good.

‘I have to admit that since we signed Frankowski things haven’t worked out as I thought they would.’ Hoddle said after the Brighton game.

‘But if you are a betting man, have one on him scoring in his first game during the World Cup.’

‘I know that he just needs to get one goal and then he will become a different animal.’
