Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Leon King but may struggle to beat out all the competition to procure his signature. The 15-year-old plays above his age group for Rangers & Scotland and is rated highly.
King’s future with the Gers is uncertain because he turned down a professional contract in November and has a lot of suitors looking to capitalise on the situation – Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool, RB Leipzig.
Despite a number of European giants battling Wolves for King, the Midlands outfit wouldn’t be a bad club for him to develop at. Nuno Espirito Santo has shown a willingness to give youth a chance – Morgan Gibbs-White (19), Pedro Neto (19), Ruben Vinagre (20), Bruno Jordao (21), Patrick Cutrone (21).
Unfortunately for Wolves, the opportunity to develop under Pep Guardiola at City, Jose Mourinho at Tottenham and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool may prove too good for King to turn down. Time will tell.
Where do the club most need to invest in January?
The youngster will turn 16 in January 2020 and is able to sign professional terms in Scotland. He’d only be eligible for a youth contract should he come to England, however.
