Ryan Bennett has yet to make his debut for Leicester City since joining them on loan last month and he won’t be able to feature in Friday’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers either. The 29-year-old comes up against his parent club just two weeks after making the switch to the King Power Stadium, but he’s ineligible to play due to the terms of his loan.

Bennett was left out of the matchday squad in Leicester’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea (February 1) as the outing came just one day after his arrival, and he’s now having to wait another gameweek before being available for selection. Brendan Rodgers now has Bennett, Caglar Söyüncü, Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan at his disposal.

The 29-year-old can turn his loan move permanent at the end of the season if he makes a set amount of appearances for Leicester or if they trigger his £5m release clause. Bennett will have to watch his new club against his old club on Friday evening but should be in line to make his debut when the Foxes welcome Manchester City to the King Power on February 22.
