Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed the signing of Enzo Loiodice on Wednesday afternoon and revealed the 19-year-old will spend the season in the u23s. Loiodice is a defensive-midfielder who’s composed in possession, but what can Wolves expect from their newest acquisition?
The Frenchman rose through the youth ranks to the Dijon FCO first-team in 2018 and has gone on to make 24 appearances in all competitions, 21 of which have come in Ligue 1 across three campaigns (2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20).
As per WhoScored, Loiodice has racked up 1206 minutes of league football, made 15 interceptions, won 12 aerial duels (40%), made seven successful dribbles (58%), averaged 30 passes-per-game with 84.1% accuracy, blocked 10 crosses/passes, made seven clearances, had eight shots and made 40 tackles.
The 19-year-old is a combative player who is adept at turning over possession and is direct with his passing. He has five months to develop in Wolves’ reserve team before the Midlands outfit make a choice on whether to turn the loan move permanent, but Loiodice clearly has potential.
Wolves u23s are currently 11th in Premier League 2 (Division One) with 11 points from 15 games.
