Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Harry Burgoyne both left Wolverhampton Wanderers and ended up at Shrewsbury Town this season. Ebanks-Landell joined the Shrews in May 2019 while Burgoyne made the switch in January 2020. But how have the duo fared at New Meadow?

Ebanks-Landell has gone on to make 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and making two assists. The 27-year-old has been a regular under Sam Ricketts and played his part in a Shrewsbury side that kept four clean sheets in the first eight weeks of the season, as per Transfermarkt.

He picked up a hamstring injury in October that kept him out for four games before returning to the bench at the beginning of November and has only missed one League One outing since. Unfortunately, Shrewsbury’s form in 2020 spiralled.

As per WhoScored, Town are currently 16th in League One with 41 points from 34 games. In 2020, they have the third-worst return (nine points from 12 games) and the third-most defeats (7). Ebanks-Landell made 50 appearances in 18 years at Wolves, but he’s only 12 games from hitting that total with his new club.

As for Burgoyne, he’s yet to make his debut for the Shrews but was a regular in the matchday squad before the season was postponed due to Covid-19. The 23-year-old spent 11 years at Wolves but only made seven appearances in all competitions.

He’s currently backup for Max O’Leary and has been on the bench in Town’s last five league outings. Ricketts also has Joe Murphy and Cameron Gregory at his disposal between the sticks, so the Shrews aren’t lacking options in goal. Time will tell when the season resumes, but Ebanks-Landell and Burgoyne will hope for a strong finish to the campaign.
