We’ve already seen a couple head for the exit doors, but expect a couple more to follow them.

Recently Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey spelled it out quite clearly: ‘Players will have to be moved on in order for new signings to come in.’

It’s just a simple case of balancing the books and the Premier League’s squad number rules.

For Mick McCarthy to strengthen the squad in the areas that we know we need it (ie defence), then he will have to make room first.

The most likely to be shifted out first is giant Austrian striker Stefan Maierhofer.

He has been quite literally, a big flop, thankfully though we should be able to re-coup some kind of transfer fee for him, we may well have to take a loss, but you would imagine every penny we receive for him will go back into the transfer kitty.

Another player obviously surplus to requirements is Greg Halford.

Like the Hoff, he spent last season out on loan and if our Mick can shift him out permanently then he probably will.

Another player whose time could be up is young lad Sam Vokes.

The Welsh striker just seems to limp from injury to injury and it’s probably best he tries to re-start is career in the Football League.

Vital Wolves Comment: What do you think? Would you keep any of the three I’ve singled out? Who else do you think we will shift out?
