When Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey put together plans for Molineux’s extension, they probably over looked the need for a bigger treatment room.
If they had been drawing up the plans this week, it would undoubtedly been higher up in their thought process with Dave Edwards joining a walking wounded list which compromises of Wayne Hennessey, Jamie O`Hara, Steven Mouyokolo, Slawomir Peszko, Razak Boukari, Stephen Hunt, George Elokobi, Georg Margreitter and Tongo Doumbia.
That’s almost a whole starting eleven just sat on the sidelines.
Edwards injury is likely to keep him out for the remainder of the calendar year.
“It`s a torn hamstring, so December has gone for him, I didn`t really see how he did it, but it`s a bad one. He just went straight down in the corner. That may be down to him playing too many games lately, but he hasn`t really had a choice.’ Solbakken told the Express & Star.
Thankfully though there is light at the end of the tunnel for some of the injured party. Doumbia could be in contention on Saturday, whilst others are expected to come back in the new year.
He continued: “December is going to be a hard month for us before the other long-term injuries come back.”
“If we can come through the month with a certain amount of points then I think everything can happen, I`ve always known with these injuries that in time we`ll grow as a team with or without a good transfer window. Four or five players will come back and compete for a place in January”
