Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has suffered medial knee ligament damage and has been ruled out of action for over a month.
With Andy Keogh on loan at Leeds and Stefan Maierhofer departing for Red Bull Salzburg, it had seemed that SEB had returned to goal scoring form just at the right moment to act as a good option and back-up behind Kevin Doyle and Stephen Fletcher.
But the injury he picked up against Northampton was worse than previously thought.
“Sylvan scored two goals but unfortunately his injury is worse than it was on the night, He`s damaged his medial ligaments, so he might be out for a month.” said McCarthy to the Birmingham Mail.
Thankfully another striker returned from injury in that game, also getting on the scoresheet.
But can we really rely on him to give us enough back up?
‘If I can keep knocking on the door and getting goals like I did against Northampton then hopefully I`ll get my chance.
“You always want to send a message to the manager and keep knocking on the door of the team and if scoring goals does that then hopefully I can keep doing that.’ Vokes said while also speaking to the Mail.
Vital Wolves Comment: It would be nice to see him get a chance, but I just wonder if a step up on a regular basis to the Premier League would be too much for him?
