Dutch Giants Make £12.5m Bid For Heavily Rumoured Wolves Target

|

One of the more long running sagas on Wolverhampton Wanderers summer transfer rumour mill so far has been links with Americas Mexican international defender Edson Alvarez.

Journalist Names Wolves As Destination For Mexican International

There have been plenty of claims about our apparent interest in the 21-year-old centre-half and it’s long been suggested that he’s already agreed personal terms with a European club, but said club had yet to agree a fee with his current owners.

Sporting Director Santiago Banos has confirmed they have received approaches, but no acceptable bids and the expectation was it wouldn’t be long because his release fee was said to be only around the £8million mark.

Journalist Jonatan Pena recently put the cat amongst the pigeons as he named Wolves as being the club to strike an agreement with the player, but it seems reports may well have now done a 180 as Ajax are said to have offered £12.5million for him – which sounds daft unless his release fee speculation was way off.

I’m not sure what the Mail lean on here as they carry no original source but it seems usual rumour mill fodder for me, and as we know anyway, even if they have gazumped his release fee as a statement to the player, £12.5million is chicken feed for us anyway.

The only question, as ever, is do we want Raul Jimenez’s international colleague or not?
