In May Wolverhampton Wanderers keeper Aaron McCarey failed a drug test.
The 23-year-old Wolves shotstopper was suspended by the Football Association after the former Republic Of Ireland Under-21 international failed a drug test for a non-performance enhancing substance.
In a statement from Wolves, the club announced that Aaron McCarey ‘strenuously denies’ deliberately taking any banned substance. But added that it was ‘extremely disappointed and concerned’ that one of its players had failed a drugs test.
According to the Express & Star should he be found guilty during the Football Association hearing, he will be banned from football for six months.
That hearing took place on Wednesday but a decision was deferred until today.
‘Unfortunately for Aaron he`s still waiting,” Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told the E&S.
“Obviously it will be good for him and good for the club if the situation is cleared up.
“If the powers that be think they have to take the time to get the right decision or assess it correctly then I understand that as well.
“It`s not something that can be taken lightly and they have to be comfortable with the conclusion. I`m sure that`s why they`re taking their time.”
