It looks like Kevin Doyle is finally set to complete his move to Celtic over the next few days.
After failing to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle during the January transfer window, Celtic manager Neil Lennon could intend to make another move soon.
During the January transfer window Doyle was heavily linked with a move to Celtic, while Celtic striker Gary Hooper was linked with Norwich.
There was even reports that Wolves rejected an approach from Celtic, with Doyle later confessing that he could have been tempted with the chance to have swapped Wolves for a shot at glory with Celtic in the SPL.
The pull of UEFA Champions League football and an almost guaranteed Championship medal with Celtic would leave any Championship player considering his options, let alone a now League One player who appears to be surplus to requirements by head coach Kenny Jackett.
In recent friendly matches despite Doyle being fully fit, Leigh Griffiths, Bjorn Sigurdarson, Jake Cassidy and Liam McAlinden have all been chosen ahead of Doyle.
Certainly a fall from grace for someone who cost the club £6.5million just four years ago.
‘With Kevin, I just felt he hasn`t done enough to push any of those guys out yet, which he will need to do to get himself time on the pitch.’ Jackett told the Express & Star.
With Gary Hooper looking set to leave Celtic for Queens Park Rangers and Doyle highly thought of by Lennon, speculation in Scotland has suggested that Celtic will re-ignite their interest in Doyle over the coming days and considering the Republic Of Ireland internationals current standing in the Wolves squad that move could be completed fairly swiftly.
