Wolves have been given a boost ahead of the new Premier League season with the news that Kevin Doyle might be fit for Wolves after all!

As discussed over on the Vital Wolves message board initially Doyle was believed to be out of action for around three weeks after he was sent home from international duty by Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni.

But once he returned to Wolves, it was hoped that the injury wasn’t as bad as first feared and that has proven to be the case.

“Yesterday he was 70-30 in favour of playing and I`m hoping that`s gone to 90-10 today.’ Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He added: “He felt a bit more aware of it because it was his knee.

“He just had a kick on Saturday and it was something from that that flared up, so hopefully he`ll play.”

Vital Wolves Comment: It’s a massive boost, not only in the short term, but if he had done his medial ligaments in his knee again, we would have to begin to wonder whether he was going to become susceptible to ongoing reoccurrences of this injury. But thankfully that doesn’t appear to be the case so worry not!
