If you believe everything that appears in the press you would be forgiven for thinking that Wolves hunt for a new manager has turned into a farce.

Ever since the sacking of Mick McCarthy, three men have been the odds on favourites for the role.

They were Alan Curbishley, Steve Bruce and Neil Warnock, but depending what paper you read and what you believe, all three may well have given Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey the cold shoulder over the weekend.

Neil Warnock is definitely out of the running after taking the Leeds United job.

Steve Bruce according to some newspapers over the weekend turned down the job on a short term basis, although some reports suggest that is in fact incorrect.

While ESPN have also reported that Alan Curbishley has done the same.

They believe he was offered the position over the weekend, but turned it down because he is only willing to accept a longer term deal.

Vital Wolves Comment: It’s unlikely that both were offered the role over the weekend, so its all down to speculation. What we do know is second interviews are scheduled to take place this week and perhaps the idea of a short term contract has been discussed with the candidates?
