Sam Vokes could be set to attempt to make it third time lucky in a bid to go out on loan this season.

Vokes was initially set to join Derby on loan, however his transfer deadline day move in the end collapsed just half an hour short of the window closing.

Having to wait a week while the loan window then opened, the majority of the Championship showed an interest in the striker and a deal two weeks ago was agreed with Coventry.

But following delay after delay, that deal now looks close to collapse, despite manager Coleman remaining optimistic. “With a bit of luck and fingers crossed we will get him here for the weekend” Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.

Adding: “It is not a definite but I am optimistic.”

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey however wasn’t too worried by the delay telling the Express & Star: “If they can`t complete the deal then it`s no hassle – we have one or two other teams interested.”

Vital Wolves Comment: Jez isn’t bluffing Coventry so it is time to pull your finger out!
