Wolves have had little luck when it comes to penalties in recent years. A string of dead ball takers have failed to hit the net in key games, including some of the current crop of players.

So it was refreshing to watch the coolness shown by Andy Keogh as he calmly slotted home his penalty, Wolves fourth goal against Leiceste City.

‘I wasn’t really designated as the taker – I just picked the ball up and said I’m having it.’ he told the clubs official site.

‘I’d practised taking it like that it training and the lads said they bet I wouldn’t do it in a match – but I did!

‘Even at 1-1 I would have still done it that way.

‘The keeper moved before I kicked the ball so it was easy.

‘The fans were brilliant. It was a great day but there’s still a job to do and everyone has come back into training today focussed on that.’
