On Thursday it was being claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers had now finally decided to take up the permanent buy clause we had on impressive striker Raul Jimenez.

The 27-year-old Mexican international came into the Molineux on a season long loan deal from Benfica and he’s certainly warmed himself to the fans with 14 goals in 34 appearances, but simply his work rate and team ethic won most over.

With three goals in his last four matches, with the latter coming against Chelsea, he’s again shown his worth and fans have been hopeful we would do a deal sooner rather than later and the E&S suggest that we are now turning our attentions in that direction although it’s yet to be rubber-stamped.

The buy clause is said to be worth £30million and they claim that a contract and wage structure has now been agreed between the parties ahead of an impending finalisation.

It would definitely be welcomed by the fans and with Jimenez making no secret about how he’s enjoying life at the club now he’s settled, it would secure his future and enable him to purely focus on on pitch matters.
