Club ‘considering’ Wolves midfielder as 25 y/o’s ‘replacement’, would be an ‘ideal’ signing

According to LaLazioSiamonoi, Lazio are ‘considering’ Leander Dendoncker as a potential ‘replacement’ for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

LaLazioSiamonoi say the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder would be an ‘ideal’ signing for Simeone Inzaghi, but it remains to be seen if Nuno Espirito Santo would let him leave this summer.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico, so Inzaghi is weighing up players who could offset the loss if Lazio are forced to let the 25-year-old leave.

Dendoncker is regarded as a Champions League-level signing who can operate in multiple roles – he’s played at centre-back and centre-midfield this season alone.

The 25-year-old has made a total of 72 appearances in all competitions since joining Wolves on loan from RSC Anderlecht in 2018 and turning the move permanent 12 months later.

Dendoncker featured in 46 games across the board this season, scoring four goals. The Belgian international has Conor Coady, Willy Boly and Romain Saiss for competition at centre-back while Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho stand in his way of playing in midfield, but he still managed to make the starting lineup on a regular basis under Nuno.

As a result, it’s hard to see Wolves letting Dendoncker join Lazio, regardless of how much they’re willing to pay.
