Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoyed a 3-0 win over Everton on Sunday and Leander Dendoncker was one of many players lauded by supporters for his performance. The 25-year-old impressed alongside Ruben Neves, winning his duels, breaking up the play and retaining possession – Everton only managed two shots on target over the weekend. Dendoncker also got on the scoresheet to cap a great showing at Molineux.

Neves had a fantastic game. Dendoncker too played well, getting a header and Podence played to success, dropping off more defensively to get the ball and leading it to attack which is so key to Wolves’ play.
Unfortunate that Neto got injured, he also had a good game. https://t.co/cTBfwhw8rS— Luca Hambleton (@HambletonLuca) July 12, 2020
Dendoncker needs the recognition he deserves!! Class act. #WWFC

All the Dendoncker haters back under their shells for another week. The lad links well with Doc on the right hand side, gets back into defensive positions quickly and efficiently and is a threat from attacking set pieces. All rounder! 🐺 🇧🇪 #wwfc

so underrated

Good, firm stuff from Dendoncker to thwart Gordon. You can see why he's come into the Wolves midfield. Moutinho – 56 games for club and country this term, joint-most of anyone in Europe – had looked leggy. #wwfc

Against Everton, the £20.25m-rated midfielder played for 90 minutes, had 50 touches, won five aerial duels, completed 84.8% of his 46 passes, created one chance, had one shot which hit the back of the net, attempted four long balls with 25% accuracy, made one interception, gave away two fouls and made one clearance.
Dendoncker joined Wolves on loan from RSC Anderlecht in 2018 and turned the move permanent in 2019. He’s gone on to make 78 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals, and has been a regular in his first campaign as a permanent player.
The Belgian international has played in 52 games this season, so he’s certainly appreciated by Nuno Espirito Santo. Fans were previously conflicted on Dendoncker, but it does appear a lot are starting to appreciate what he brings to the midfield.
