Talks over a new contract between Tony Capaldi and Plymouth Argyle have stalled, and the player now looks set to leave Argyle in the summer on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling, fuelling rumours that he may be on his way to Molineux.

Capaldi was one of Mick McCarthy’s January targets and has attracted the interest of several clubs.

With 20 caps for Northern Ireland and is Argyle’s joing highest capped player ever, and has been a linchpin in their side since 2005.

Equally comfortable at left back or left midfield, he would be a useful addition to Mick McCarthy’s squad, particularly with Jackie McNamara being out of contract in the summer.
