With Wolverhampton Wanderers taking a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend courtesy of Matt Doherty’s second-half strike, the 26-year-old has obviously come in for plenty of praise since then given the Republic of Ireland international’s form for us at the back as we continue adjusting to life in the Premier League.
With the October international break now in full flow, the clubs’ social media team decided to relive Doherty’s goal from the weekend as they posted it up on the official Twitter feed.

Obviously there were a few reactions to this from fans who took the opportunity to have another smile on Tuesday as our fullback opened his account for the season with the goal that gifted us all three points, but a number of fans zeroed in on fellow defender Willy Boly and the part he played during the build-up to the goal.
Namely the way he took talented attacker Wilfried Zaha out of the equation.
I missed that bit

Had to replay that to see Boly absolutely steamroll Zaha. That's why we're doing so well. Every tackle matters

That tackle by Boly was pivotal. Great teamwork from all!

The Willy Boly tackle to start it all off, the perfect ball from Neves and the clever interlinking play between Doherty and Jimenez, but for me, go back to the start….. It's all about the Boly tackle that makes it possible. #willyboly #wolves #wwfc

A perfectly fair challenge as well I don’t mind saying.
