WOLVES and Burnley are set for a bidding war for James McCarthy, who was recently voted the best young player in Scotland.

Capped at Under-21 level for Scotland despite being just 18, McCarthy currently plays for Hamilton Academical who finished 9th in the Scottish Premier League last season.

Wolves are believed to have offered a deal that could rise to £2million, with half up front and half depending on appearances.

Vital Wolves Comment: Not a great fan of Scottish football, so do not know much about him.

He does sound like a lad with potential in abundance and could be a very good signing for the future.
