Wolves On The Tweet

‘BTEC Neves’, ‘Not good enough’ – Many Wolves fans give strong opinions over potential signing

|

Plenty of Wolves fans have responded on Twitter after the club have been linked to the signing of Kalvin Phillips once more.

The Leeds midfielder has been one of the club’s shining lights over the past few seasons, however, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side still not able to reach the Premier League, his time at Elland Road could be limited.

The Birmingham Mail have reported that Wolves still have their sights on the player, who could cost the club more than £20m, as per those reports.

However, even with Wolves being so far ahead of Leeds at the moment in terms of league position, they still will have their work cut out if they are to bring him in full-time, and the next few months are likely to be the deciding factor in whether this deal could come off.

Obviously, with Phillips joining the club’s academy 10 years ago, there’s a good chance that he would want to play for the club if they got promoted this season. But if they don’t, then he may be eager to get that move to the Premier League.

Despite the player being so highly rated in West Yorkshire, Wolves fans aren’t convinced by him – as you can read below. One fan even called him a ‘BTEC Neves’.

While he still might not be up to the standard of Joao Moutinho or Ruben Neves, there is no doubt that he is a quality player who could also play as part of the back three in defence.
