If the media are right, then the vacant managerial role at Molinuex is Alan Curbishley’s to lose.

The former Charlton and West Ham manager was the first name that came out of the lips of owner Steve Morgan and he would appear to be one of the first candidates to be interviewed at some stage today.

One of the other leading contenders is former Sunderland, Birmingham and Wigan boss Steve Bruce and according to the Daily Star he is planning to wow Morgan and Moxey during the interview process with a ‘survival dossier’ in the hopes of impressing and getting the gig.

Bruce of course has one major positive over Curbishley and that is that he may well appear to have his finger on the pulse, with Curbs having not been in the game for a number of years.

That said, there doesn’t appear to be much supporter backing for Bruce, which must also come into play when the board make their decision.

We the supporters, need to be united going into the final run-in, can the board risk seeing a split supporter base over a new manager?
