‘Brilliant, ‘Wonderful’, ‘Special player’ – some fans praise Wolves man after Man City win

Wolverhampton Wanderers came from 2-0 down to beat Manchester City 3-2 on Friday evening and Adama Traore was one of many players to come away with praise. The 23-year-old scored one goal and made one assist over the 90 minutes to pull off a shock victory over the defending champions.

After going 2-0 down after 50 minutes, Wolves halved the deficit before the hour mark through Traore. The Spaniard fired a low drive past Claudio Bravo in the 55th minute before winning the ball off Benjamin Mendy and squaring to Raul Jimenez for 2-2 in the 82nd minute. Matt Doherty bagged the winner late on.

Against City, Traore made 64 touches, won three aerial duels, had five shots, created three chances, completed 80.7% of his 31 passes, whipped in nine crosses with 33% accuracy and made 10 successful dribbles. He contributed two out of Wolves’ three goals and once again put the Sky Blues to the sword – Traore scored twice in their 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men in October.

The 23-year-old has now scored and created 12 goals in 28 games, having a hand in five goals from his last eight appearances. Wolves may have to fend off a lot of interest in January.
