Lots of Wolves fans have responded on Twitter to the claims that the Daniel Podence transfer is now off.
Despite numerous reports suggesting that the deal is nearing conclusion, including respected Wolves reporter Tim Spiers from the Athletic, a piece from Greek outlet Sportime has stated (via HITC) that the sale has broken down and will not be completed.
The previous site had reported that the deal was close to being completed in the past week, however, they suggest that it will not happen and do not give any reason for why.
Whether fans should trust this source more than the designated Wolves reporter in Spiers is up to them, though his latest tweet seems pretty convinced of his arrival, which you can read below…
I'm told Wolves are hoping to wrap up the permanent signing of Daniel Podence tomorrow. Final details being ironed out and he's been left out of the Olympiakos squad today #WWFC @TheAthleticUK

With the club yet to sign someone ready for the first-team – Nigel Lonwijk from PSV is just 17, while Ecuador international Leonardo Campana, 19, is likely to be one for the U23s to start – fans seem especially keen for them to get this deal over the line.
Popular fan account on Twitter @TalkingWolves shared a post about the rumours, to which many fans responded weighing in with their comments.
As you can read below, there were some fans who seem frustrated by the lack of business by the club, while others seemed to doubt the legitimacy of the claims.
Imagine my shock that we bottled another window

Christ sake, I can hear the ridiculous meltdowns already – ‘should’ve scouted better’, ‘bottled another transfer’, thin squad’, ‘poor recruitment’ blah blah blah. Sometimes I wonder why Nuno doesn’t just consult the Twitter experts

They’ve asked for more money at the 11th hour?

What in the hell happened, went from being so close to this?

The Express and Star wrote an update on his situation this morning, claiming that the club continues to work on a deal for Podence – said to be around £19m – with the player dropping out of the club’s squad for their match against rivals AEK Athens.
