The chase to sign Hearts captain Christophe Berra looks to be entering its final phase, with Wolves tabling a final take it or leave it £1.75m offer.

Having finally appointed a new manager, Csaba Laszlo, there is now someone sensible for the club to talk to, although Laszlo has already gone on record to say Hearts do not want teh player to leave.

Dealings with the Tynecastle club have so far been hampered by the fact there have been five different contacts and 7 different phone numbers given out to discuss transfer dealings with.

Wolves could now face competition for Berra’s signature from Dutch side Feyenoord, now also said to be interested.
