It was a case of one in and one out at Molineux last night as Sebastien Bassong joined from Spurs and Matt Doherty joined Hibernian.
Both deals are loans that will run until the end of the season.
Spurs Cameroon international defender Sebastien Bassong was according to Wolves Official Website a target throughout January and while a deal looked like it wasn’t going to be reached, a deal was resurrected and concluded yesterday afternoon.
The 25-year-old has previous experience with Metz and Newcastle United before joining Spurs for £8million in 2009.
He has made 185 appearances throughout his career and could well qualify as the star signing that Chief executive Jez Moxey was referring too in the E&S.
20-year-old Wolves defender Matt Doherty is looking forward to gaining some first team experience in the Scottish Premier League.
Doherty, who is versatile defender, moved to Wolves in July 2010 and made his debut against Liverpool a couple of months ago.
‘I’m excited about playing for Hibs and about working with Pat (his former manager at Bohemians) again. He has given me a chance to get some game-time and I’m looking forward to it.’ Doherty told the BBC.
