Shot stopper Adriano Basso has left Wolves.

The 36-year-old Brazilian Goalkeeper came to Wolves in January after Mick McCarthy wanted to sign someone as cover for Wayne Hennessey and Marcus Hahnemann, following Carl Ikeme struggling with a shoulder injury.

Basso was a free agent after being released by Bristol City and hasn’t played football since September 2009 and that didn’t change during his time at Wolves.

‘We would like to thank Adriano for stepping in. He was a good personality to have around the squad and we wish him all the best for the future.’ Wolves CEO Jez Moxey told Wolves Official Website.

Vital Wolves Comment: Not many footballers would join a club with very little chance of featuring and that proved to be the case, with the closest Basso got to play for Wolves was the reserves on five occasions.
