Raul Jimenez came away with praise from some supporters on social media after Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Bournemouth 1-0 on Wednesday. The 29-year-old scored his second goal in as many games for Wolves, once again heading home an Adama Traore cross, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men narrowed the gap to the top-four.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Against Bournemouth, Jimenez played for 89 minutes, made 39 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 84.6% of his 26 passes, had one shot which ended up a goal, made one interception, attempted four long balls with 100% accuracy, made two clearances and won one free-kick.

The €100m-rated Mexican international has made 46 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 24 goals and making 10 assists. He’s found the back of the net in four of his last five Premier League games and has already surpassed last season’s tally.

Jimenez is expected to start in attack when Wolves lock horns with Aston Villa on Saturday and will hope to score in his third consecutive game. Wolves are only two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and level on points with fifth-placed Manchester United, so a win over the weekend could see the Black and Gold finish in a Champions League spot.
