Having opened the 2018/19 Premier League campaign up with a point from a 2-2 draw with Everton at the weekend as we returned to the top-flight of English football, managing director Laurie Dalrymple was certainly in good spirits.
With Dalrymple and other directors leaving 100’s of ‘free pint’ cards for fans at the Hogshead pub prior to the game and then settling the bill.

The man couldn’t have been more full of praise for the Wolves faithful for the atmosphere they created across the game and he took to social media himself to laud how great a day it had been.
The atmosphere yesterday was on another level, the loudest I’ve experienced at Molineux. Incredible support the team and to kick the season off. Leicester next week on the road, and we’ll reconvene for the Champions in two weeks for more of the same ???? #onepack pic.twitter.com/VOwYCQbG2J

It certainly struck the right chord with fans given their enjoyment on the day and efforts ahead of kick-off had clearly been appreciated in the stands.
During the game NBC sports reported that their commentary box shook when Neves scored.

Thank you Laurie and all your team.I had goose bumps when the team came out, not heard noise like that since the Palace playoffs.Every fan in Molineux did their job, but from where I was in the South Bank it was deafening. Thousands of proud Wolves fans, all over the World today

The gestures and plans certainly did the trick in terms of whipping up the crowd and making it a day to remember, and despite a more below-par performance, it was still an entertaining match and we made our first step back in the Premier League with something to show for our efforts so there few grumbles on that front either.
Onwards and upwards as undoubtedly excitement and expectations will simply explode to life once we pick up the first three points of the year and fans get that lift under their belts.
